Joey and Bela

The Chef’s Cellar was born when Joey and Bela decided to embark on a life together. Bela was a food blogger in London, passionate about trying all the new restaurants, culinary trends, and pop-ups, writing reviews for Time Out London. Joey worked as a private chef in France, dividing his time between the mountains in winter and wine regions in summer, working closely with local sommeliers to pair his dishes with wines freshly sourced from producers. They met at Joe’s cousin’s wedding, and the spark was instant. Soon, they packed their bags and set out to launch their wine distribution business in Morzine, Haute-Savoie, France.

The Chef’s Cellar is where wine and gastronomy meet. Joe’s passion for cooking led him to France, where he discovered that the only thing that could enhance an exceptional meal was pairing it with the right wine. After exploring all of London’s restaurants, Bela was captivated by the purity of French cuisine and wine. Once she experienced the perfect pairing of good food with good wine, there was no turning back. The knowledge of terroir and the humble, instinctive way a French family pairs meals with local wines evoke a kind of fairytale, bringing an authenticity that surpasses even the most refined culinary experiences. This essence captured the imaginations of Joey and Bela, who felt compelled to share it with as many people as possible.

Each wine in our selection has been carefully chosen and paired with the dish or occasion that best highlights its qualities, as this is how we love to enjoy wine. Some wines are best appreciated on their own, while others, with their complexity, reveal their full potential when paired with the right dishes. We’ve put every effort into making these discoveries as simple as possible for anyone browsing our selection.
